Learning for Life

School Logo and Motto

The school logo was developed from a number of designs that were submitted by numerous parties during 1994.

The outer circle represents the world.
The inner circle represents our school.
The triangular style arrowheads are located at the key compass points. North, South, East, West, North East, South East, North West and South West.
These features represent the fact that our students come from all points of the globe to Hambledon.

Inside the circle, the main features are:

  • the hills
  • the Southern Cross
  • and the dove.
  • The hills represent the Quakers Hills, an important feature of our location.
  • The Southern Cross is also a feature of our location in the world and the dove of peace represents our desire to ensure that our school is characterised by peace, tolerance, understanding and a sense of common unity.

The design is very well presented in our school colours of red, black and white.

Our school motto, "Learning for Life" recognises the fact that the learning that occurs at our school at all levels is not simply learning for today, but also to support us all as we progress on our many journeys through life.
